“City Police Arrest two for Armed Robbery”

During the early morning hours of Sept 23, 2017, Plattsburgh Police Officers responded to 70 Margaret Street in the City of Plattsburgh for a reported armed robbery. The residents reported that two male suspects, one armed with a handgun and the other with what they believed to be pepper spray, entered their residence and demanded money. One suspect was known to a resident of the apartment and was identified as Michael J. Johnson (24) of Saranac Lake NY. The other suspect was described as a white male, mid 20s wearing a red hooded sweatshirt. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money from the apartment, both males fled on foot in a westerly direction on Brinkerhoff Street. Plattsburgh Police Detectives, with assistance from the New York State Police and the Village of Saranac Lake Police Department, later located Johnson on Route 3 in the Village of Saranac Lake. During an extensive investigation, the other suspect was identified as Sabbath McGregor (20) of Chase Mills New York. McGregor was taken into custody on Sunday and is being held for arraignment. Both suspects are charged with Robbery 1st Degree (Class B Felony), Criminal Possession of a weapon 3rd Degree (Class D Felony) and Petit Larceny (Class A Misdemeanor). Johnson was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on Sunday and committed to the Clinton County Jail on $50,000 cash bail or $250,000 bond. McGregor will be arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court Monday, September, 25, 2017.
