PLATTSBURGH POLICE DEPARTMENT
“City Police bust local woman for cocaine possession”
DATE OF RELEASE: 2/16/2018
TIME OF RELEASE: 2:00 PM
On February 13th, 2018 members of the Plattsburgh City Police Narcotics Enforcement Unit arrested Hannah K. Dyer (37) of the City of Plattsburgh for one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (A-I Felony).
This arrest stems from an ongoing narcotics investigation. Further arrests are likely.
On the evening of February 13th, 2018, a New York State Police Canine Handler (working in collaboration with the Plattsburgh City Police Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Adirondack Drug Task Force) conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle Dyer was operating.
Dyer was found to be in possession of approximately 10.93 ounces of cocaine. Police estimate the street value of the cocaine to be in excess of $30,000. This is believed to be one of the largest drug seizures in the history of the Plattsburgh Police Department stemming from a single vehicle stop.
“This bust is no accident. It’s a product of great police work and cooperation with our sister agencies,” commented Mayor Read. “By breaking up this drug supply chain, many more hundreds of thousands of dollars of drugs will be kept off our street.”
Dyer appeared for arraignment in Plattsburgh City Court on February 14th, 2018 for one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st degree (A-I Felony). She was remanded to the Clinton County Jail pending further court appearances.
This arrest was a result of a joint investigation by the Plattsburgh City Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Adirondack Drug Task Force which is comprised of members of the Plattsburgh City Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, New York State Police, Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Border Patrol, Homeland Security Investigations, Clinton County District Attorney’s Office and the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.
