“Two Arrested for Drug Possession in the City of Plattsburgh”

On May 6, 2019, the Plattsburgh City Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit arrested Menelek Cummings (28) and Marisha Harmon (39) both of Plattsburgh.
The arrests stem from the execution of a search warrant at 124 Sharron Avenue, Plattsburgh, NY on May 6th where approximately one-half pound (8 oz) of cocaine and one ounce of heroin were located inside the residence. Police estimate the street value of the drugs to be in excess of $45,000. Other items recovered during the execution of the warrant were various items used for the packaging and distribution of illicit drugs and approximately $8,000 in currency.
Cummings and Harmon were each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree (class “A” Felonies) and Endangering the welfare of a Child (Class “A” Misdemeanors). Both subjects were arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on May 7th. Cummings was transferred to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail/ $10,000 bond and Harmon was released to the Pre-trial release program.
The execution of the search warrant stems from an ongoing investigation by the Plattsburgh NEU into the sales and transportation of narcotics in the greater Plattsburgh Area. Members of the Plattsburgh Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, Clinton County District Attorney’s Office, University Police, and Public Housing Authority assisted in the investigation.
