On March 12, 2016 at approximately 11:05 pm, Plattsburgh Police responded to 38 US Oval in the City of Plattsburgh for a report of a residential Burglary. Officers determined that sometime in the preceding days, someone entered the apartment and stole several personal checks as well as online banking information from the resident. It was later learned the checks were forged and deposited into an online bank account and the victim’s online account information was accessed and money transferred out of the account.
Detectives identified the suspect as Carissa Glicksman (38) of 6 Grand Isle Way, Plattsburgh. It is alleged that Glicksman unlawfully entered the victim’s apartment several times during February and March of 2016, stealing personal checks and online banking information, including account numbers and passwords. It is also alleged that Glicksman forged the stolen checks and utilized the online bank information to access funds belonging to the victim, totaling in excess of $7,200.
Glicksman was charged with 1 count of Burglary in the Second Degree (Class C Felony), 1 count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree (Class D Felony) and one count of Forgery in the Second Degree (Class D Felony). She was arraigned in Plattsburgh City Court on 03/18/2016 and sent to the Clinton County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail/ $20,000 Bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely.
