City of Plattsburgh accepting applications for Hometown Heroes Banner Program

The City of Plattsburgh is partnering with local military families to honor men and women who have served or are currently serving in the US Armed Forces. Applications for this year’s program are due on March 15th.

This Saturday’s TANNEN-BOOM! is canceled due to unsafe weather conditions

The Tannen-BOOM community bonfire event has been canceled due to forecasted high winds which pose a public safety concern. Due to staffing and vendor availability, the event will not be rescheduled in 2024.

Plattsburgh Mayor Calling for Council-Manager Consideration

Plattsburgh City Mayor, Christopher Rosenquest is looking to create a commission to explore the future of the City’s form of government. Currently, the City operates under a “Strong Mayor” model. A Strong Mayor form of government is defined by a Mayor who acts as the Chief Executive Officer as well as the Presiding Officer of the legislative body — in Plattsburgh’s case, the City Common Council.

It’s that time of year again when snow or ice events occur in the City of Plattsburgh. The Department of Public Works would like to remind folks to heed the parking ban signal lights and remove cars from city streets and parking lots.

The Bike Guys Find New Location at 39 Oak Street

Two local residents have moved the base of their charitable operation, known as “The Bike Guys”, from the former site of the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum (CVTM) to the Plattsburgh Housing Authority’s (PHA) building at 39 Oak Street
